Hello with a big hug!
I’m Lubaina - though most friends call me Lubbu. (Enemies? They don’t dare call me at all.)
My love for writing started early: scribbling school notes, experimenting with cursive and straight scripts, collecting every pen I could find. And what do you know - it all paid off. I became that rare species: a doctor with good handwriting. Famous in school, college, and even at work as the doctor with the pretty notes. Enough bragging… let’s get back to the blog.
Poetry was my first refuge. From young love to world peace, human rights to mindfulness, words always found me. During the dark, relentless days of the 2019 pandemic, when ICUs brimmed with the dead and dying, poetry became my therapy. Those poems turned into books - four self-published collections so far, a dream come true. What began as a way to survive grief has since become my annual tradition: a book, gifted to my husband every birthday (yes, he deserves credit for nudging me along this path).
But my story doesn’t end in rhyme and solemnity. My playful side demanded space too. Enter The Cuckoo Brain: short comic stories drawn straight from my everyday chaos. They started on Facebook, but I abandoned the scroll trap and gave them their own nest here. Be warned: some posts may ruffle feathers - but hey, they’re all in good humor. And if they don’t make sense? Don’t worry. Common sense is overrated anyway (and I misplace mine often when I write).
This blog is a mixed bag - poems, quirky thoughts and cat antics (she owns me, not the other way around), and artwork from my books that could easily become cards, covers, or quirky gifts. I’ll share links to my books too, in case you’d like to support me on my very humble journey to becoming rich (one poem at a time).
That’s not all of me, but it’s a fair slice. I hope you enjoy wandering through my world. And if you’ve got questions, ideas, or just want to say hi - I’m only a click away.
With love,
Lubbu
